brunch with the big kahuna

"truth is more interesting than the facts..."

...to quote the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.  Whether the truth about the travails of Frank Lloyd Wright (FLW) will ever be known, the amount of literature devoted to the topic is certainly not in short supply.

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to see a FLW building is certain to come away appreciating his many talents. Examples of his work are around the globe but there are three places that hold special pleasure for any Wright-o-phile.

This rich dish pairs rice that is flavored with garlic, tomato and saffron with rabbit, chorizo (a dried Spanish sausage) and escargot.

big island of hawaii and oahu

Looking for a fun place to start our summer over Memorial Day weekend and have a memorable vacation we chose Hawaii. Our first stop was Oahu. After our typical extensive research we chose the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach.  As is usually the case with the Hilton properties, this one was well appointed, extremely clean and very busy. We had a confortable ocean view room in the Rainbow Tower right on the beach (the one you can see even when sailing) with a balcony overlooking the beach.

niagara on the lake - ontario, canada

After deciding to visit a friend who had recently moved to Toronto we decided to embark on a car trip to Canada from Chicago. We thought the trip would be fun and we could stop and visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cinncinati as well as the always popular Niagara Falls. As many people know the Niagara Falls has been a honeymoon destination for many, many years.

Upon planning our trip my friend in Toronto told us about Niagara On the Lake (NOTL) and told us we shouldn’t miss it. Since we had never been to Niagara Falls let alone NOTL, the researching began.
